SoloPower Flexible

FLEXIBLE

Having a flexible PV panel can assist in many different applications - both fixed and portable configurations. SP1 and SP3 SoloPower panels can be bent into the desired profile within their respective mechanical ranges. The SP1 can be rolled into a ø300mm coil while the larger SP3 can be rolled to ø400mm. The flexibility of SoloPower LPV panels  is made possible due to the nano-structure of the actual CIGS cell and the encapsulation materials. The substrate of the cell is a stainless steel foil providing the basis of the flexibility to begin with. The high-grade thermo-plastic laminate and backing provide some rigidness, but not enough to limit the flexibility. No rigid glass content means the panel is easily adapted to curved profiles with ease.

Applications for the flexibility of the technology are vast - from simple curved roofing spaces to yachts and vehicles. Panels can easily be installed permanently on a curved surface or rolled up for portable applications. Customers are using the flexible element of SoloPower technology to acheive aesthetically pleasing solar installations as well as practical portable solutions.
